Ulmer Nest
Ulmer Nest
🏠In this activity, students will dive into estimation and critical thinking as they explore ‘Ulmer Nest’. It’s essential to start with the starter slides, where students will examine photos and use their estimation skills to make educated estimates later on. This sets the stage for the main activity, where they’ll calculate the necessary insulation (surface area) and discuss design factors relevant to their own communities.
📝 There is also an optional extra task for students; click ‘Solutions & Supporting Materials’ to access additional resources.
⏰ About 45-60 minutes to complete, including the starter activity and varying based on the depth of discussion.
