How steep is this treadmill?
How steep is this treadmill?
Every year, even older students still get mixed up about horizontal and vertical slopes. Students do understand “rise over run,” but when it comes to horizontal and vertical slopes, things can get fuzzy (is it because they never truly understood?)
This activity has been updated to clear all of that up, looking at photos of treadmills at different and extreme incline settings. Through these real-world examples, they connect what they see to the math to truly understand, instead of memorizing.
