The greatest amount of chocolate

 

In this updated activity, students compare three chocolates that look almost the same size to see which one actually gives the most chocolate. Depending on their grade level, they’ll use different strategies to explore the concept of area as a measure of covering. Please be sure to read the teaching tips in the solutions for ideas on how to guide student thinking.
