2026
As the new year approaches (where did the time go!!?), our annual activity has students explore not-so-common number categories to investigate whether 2026 fits into any of these. What is a Harshad number? A pernicious number? A tetrahedral number? Students work with number bases (including binary), use formulas, and look for patterns using visuals.
Perfect for wrapping up your final math class of 2025, kicking off winter break, or easing students back in when they return!
⏰ For younger students (Grades 4-8), about an hour
For older students, it works well as a quick, fun warm-up or as a way to wrap up the last class before the break.
Happy New Year!
