More eruptions on Hawai'i's Kilauea
The Volcano Kilauea is continuing to spew molten lava and ash on the island of Hawai'i. This volcano is on the tip of the southern most Hawaiian Island. Is that significant? In this activity students note the descending ages of the Hawaiian Islands and begin to understand the direction and rate of the Pacific plate as it moves across this hot spot in the Earth's mantle.
