Iditarod 2023 – The Last Great Race on Earth

The Iditarod Dogsled Race will begin this year on Saturday, March 4th in Anchorage, Alaska. It is often called The Last Great Race on Earth because it is so long and grueling. Students do some rate, distance, and hardship comparisons to decide if they agree that the Iditarod is really the Last Great Race on Earth.

You could begin this activity with Dallas Seavey's Iditarod introduction movie below. Dallas has won the Iditarod in 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2021.  His dad, Mitch Seavey, won in 2004, 2013 and 2017.

For Adventurer members we have an editable Word docx and solutions.
