Home team advantage?

Updated! Even before your students check out the graphic below, ask them whether they think a game played at home gives their team an advantage.  If so, how much of an advantage?  Enjoy the discussion first.

 Then show the graphic.

When you look at the visual what do you see?  What does it make you think?  What do you wonder? In this activity students use an infographic to compare NFL team home and away wins. Students consider the best home team, the best away team and consider if NFL teams really do seem to have a home field advantage.  FYI: NFL teams play 8 home and 8 away games each season (not including any playoff games).

For Adventurer members we have an editable Word docx, solutions and an Excel sheet with the 32 teams' data and a chart.
