Appalachian Trail turns 75
In 1937 the Appalachian Trail, a 2,180 mile footpath extending from Georgia to Maine, was completed. August, 2012 marks its 75th year of existance.
As summer vacations end and schools begin, your students might still be involved in hiking. In this simple activity, we look at the hiking rates and calorie needs to be a thru-hiker along the A.T.
